カラーのインク Colour Ink

黒のインク以外は、自分たちで配合しなくてはいけません。売っているインクは、テクニシャンのアランおじさん曰く「リトグラフ用とエッチング用の中間で、どちらにも中途半端！」だから・・・。インク作りは面白いけど、急に使いたくなる・・・なんてタイプの私には面倒臭いな・・・。
If we want to use colour ink, we must make it from scratch. Because  ready-made ink is oddly made for litho and etching both, so the technician, Alan says.

これは鉛のプレートで、カラーインクには適していません。とくにこういう薄い黄色はダメです・・・
鉛は軟らかいので、色をのせる時、一緒に鉛の表面も削られてしまい、鉛の色・黒色がインクに混ざってしまうからです・・・
THis is zinc and it is not suitable for colour ink, by the way. Especilly light colour like this yellow... because zinc is soft metal and when we spread the ink, we scrape the surface and melt in the zinc itself a bit which colour is black...  

折り紙 Origami

ソフトグラウンドの上に、折った紙をのせてプレスしたもの。I put origami on the softground.






折り目がはっきり見えます。I could see the crease.

昨日に引き続き、今度はフェルトチップ・ペンで、ソフトグラウンドの上にグルグル描いてみました。
I used a felt pen on the softground.





昨日と同じように、案外とはっきり腐食されました。
Same as yesterday, lines are well etched.





これで今年の銅版画はおしまいです。来週からは、エッチングルーム以外でできる版画をします。楽しみ。乞う、ご期待！?
ちなみに一応大学院生なので、冬休みの宿題はありません。あるいは…
アートに冬休みなんて無い！
This is the end of etching for this term, this year.I will do something I can do without using the etching room.I am looking forward to it! 
There is no homework for MA student. Or I can say... there is no off day for ART!

ｿﾌﾄｸﾞﾗｳﾝﾄﾞ・ﾄﾞﾛｰｲﾝｸﾞ Drawing on the Softground

ソフト・グラウンドの線をグリグリ描きました。
銅板は酸に浸けず、塩化第二鉄という液に浸けます。表面が黒っぽくなります。これを防ぐには「醤油」が良いらしい…とは、深澤幸雄氏の本。
Copper plate is soked in Ferric chloride. Often gets a bit black."Soy sauce" can prevent it according to Yukio Fukazawa.










ソフト・グラウンドの上にシャープな線を描いても、あんまり意味がありません。
そういう時は、ハードグラウンドを使えばいいから。その代り、一枚薄紙をのせて描くと、ソフトグラウンドを生かした、軟らかい線が楽しめます。
It is meaningless to draw sharp lines on the Softground. If it is required, people just use hardground so. Instead we enjoy soft lines using a thin paper.

でも今日のは、案外シャープな線になったなぁー。
But today's plate got sharp lines somehow...

網目 Net ２

またミカンの入っていた網をのせ、今度は手でギュッと押しつけてみました。今日の網目は、この前のより大きめ。これでも案外いけます。
I used a net again. This time the stitch is wider and I just hand-pushed it on the softground. Still it worked!



ところで、グラウンドを落としたり、バーニッシュ液を落とすのには、たくさんのホワイトスピリットやベンジンのようなものを使います。そして、たくさんのボロ布も。
でも今度の学校には、ホワイトスピリットが循環するシンクがあって、とっても便利です。
I used to use lots of whitespirit and clothes to wash the ground off. But now I can use recycle whitespirit sink! 




 

ギザギザをゴロゴロ Notched softground

ソフトグラウンドの上で、ギザギザのペンのキャップを転がします。なんだか、日本の着物の柄みたい。右のプレートは、酸から引き上げた後、水でゆすいだところ。こういう瞬間にも、うっとりします。
I rolled notched pen cap on the softground.
It reminded me a pattern of Japanese traditional KIMONO...

ソフトグラウンドをプレートに敷く前に、まずプレートの表面の油を取り除きます。チョークの粉とアンモニアを使います。この二つでプレートの表面を擦り、水で洗い流します。

Before rolling the softground, it is necessary to degrease the plate using chalk and ammonia.




ところで、私のプレートは小さいです。このスノコの上のどこにあるか、見えます？
This is a sink for degreasing. Can you find my plate?

網目 Net

ソフトグラウンドに、ミカンの入っていた網をのせてプレスします。こんなプリントができます。
