咳止めの薬 Cough Syrup...

風邪をひきました…
咳がひどくて、夜中も何回か起きました。疲れた…
その上、明日は日本へ帰るので、版画はお休み…がっかり。
I had a bad cold. Coughing woke me up in the middle of the night... I was and still am exhausted.  
Tomorrow I am going home to Japan for holiday so... no printmaking for a while. Sad...

イギリスでは風邪をひくと、こういう薬を飲みます。今回お世話になったのは、咳止めシロップ。ブラック・カラント味です。２種類あって、一つは空咳用。今回は少し重症用。TCPというのは、薄めて使ううがい薬。消毒するので、虫刺されとかニキビとかに塗ってもいいそうです！I took cough syrup for chesty coughs this time. Black currant taste!
くまのプーさん。実は背中に湯たんぽが入っています。プーさんが持っているのは、ペット用の湯たんぽ!

珍しく食欲もありません…でもスープを作ったから、頑張って食べています。フルーツゼリーは、お見舞いで作ってもらいました。Thank u,Yoshi!
I lost appetite but still try to eat properly. My boyfriend helps it to visit me with this pretty fruit jelly!

And this? The last one must be easy.








答えは、最初のが私の指先のプリント。次が顔、そして最後は左手です。手のプリントを見ると、途端に「犯罪者」とか「捕虜」といった言葉を連想するのは、私だけでは無いと思います…
The 1st one was a print of my finger tips then of my face. The last was obvious, my left hand!
By the way, finger print always reminds me few words such as 'Criminal' and 'Hostage' I believe it is not only me...


まず薄紙に、インクをローラーでのせて、紙にのせ、薄紙の上から絵を描く方法があります。
このイラストは残念ながら私のオリジナルでなくて、古代キプロスの壺を作っていた人たちの絵のコピーです。
There is a way to print using tissue inked on. Simply draw on the tissue so that the printed paper gets nice strange marks as well! unfortunately, these images are not mine. These are copied from the ancient Cypriot potteries.

ｳｪﾙｶﾑ･ｺﾚｸｼｮﾝ WellcomeCollection

土曜日は、版画はお休み。展覧会の報告です。
The exhibition report for Saturdays.

今日は、ユーストンEuston駅の目の前にある、ウェルカム・コレクションを観てきました。駅を出て、この彫刻を通り過ぎた向こうに、建物があります。
I went to Wellcome Collection in front of Euston station. Just pass this sculpture.




メディシン・マン（呪医!?）と呼ばれた、ヘンリー・ウェルカムさんのコレクションが楽しく展示してある博物館です。
This collection is established by 'Medicin man' Henry Wellcome.

今は「スリーピング＆ドリーミング」という面白い展覧会をしています。でも、そちらはカメラ禁止です。
Currently there is an interesting show called 'Sleeping and Dreaming' in the main gallery.



私の目当ては、常設展のアニー・カトレルの作品です。タイトルは「センス＝感覚器官」
五感・見る・嗅ぐ・聴く・触る・味わう、という五つの感覚が、刺激を与える脳の中の、それぞれの部分の模型です。
美しい!!!
友達に薦められて、早速観に来てホントに良かった。
My purpose to come to this show was to see Annie Cattrell. Her work titled 'Sense' is a sequence of the illustrations of the actibity patterns of the human brain as it responds to the five senses: sight, smell, hearing. touch and taste. They are amazingly beautifull, aren't they?!

これは面白かった。英国人ジュリアン・ウォーカーの作品。「アクト・オブ・フェイス=信仰の記録(?)」 
いかに人は薬に頼り、期待し、信じているか…そこに注目した作品です。写真が上手じゃないけれど、薬のタブレットが細かく刻まれて、手の形や胃の形：それぞれの薬が作用する体の部分の彫刻になっています。すごい!!!
This is Julian Walker's work called 'Acts of Faith'
Hand-carved pills, The work looks at how the ideas of faith, dependence and hope are made physical in medicine.

おみやげは、ウェルカム・コレクションの建物の中の見取り図。裏にこんな、展示物のイラストが描いてあります。

ｿﾌﾄｸﾞﾗｳﾝﾄﾞ・ﾄﾞﾛｰｲﾝｸﾞ Drawing on the Softground ２

昨日に引き続き、今度はフェルトチップ・ペンで、ソフトグラウンドの上にグルグル描いてみました。
I used a felt pen on the softground.





昨日と同じように、案外とはっきり腐食されました。
Same as yesterday, lines are well etched.





これで今年の銅版画はおしまいです。来週からは、エッチングルーム以外でできる版画をします。楽しみ。乞う、ご期待！?
ちなみに一応大学院生なので、冬休みの宿題はありません。あるいは…
アートに冬休みなんて無い！
This is the end of etching for this term, this year.I will do something I can do without using the etching room.I am looking forward to it! 
There is no homework for MA student. Or I can say... there is no off day for ART!

学期の終わりThe end of a term

今日で今学期はおしまいです。来週からクリスマス休暇です。
Today is the lastday for this term. Christmas holiday is coming!

休み前なので、私のスタジオ・スペースを片付けました。

ｿﾌﾄｸﾞﾗｳﾝﾄﾞ・ﾄﾞﾛｰｲﾝｸﾞ Drawing on the Softground

ソフト・グラウンドの線をグリグリ描きました。
銅板は酸に浸けず、塩化第二鉄という液に浸けます。表面が黒っぽくなります。これを防ぐには「醤油」が良いらしい…とは、深澤幸雄氏の本。
Copper plate is soked in Ferric chloride. Often gets a bit black."Soy sauce" can prevent it according to Yukio Fukazawa.










ソフト・グラウンドの上にシャープな線を描いても、あんまり意味がありません。
そういう時は、ハードグラウンドを使えばいいから。その代り、一枚薄紙をのせて描くと、ソフトグラウンドを生かした、軟らかい線が楽しめます。
It is meaningless to draw sharp lines on the Softground. If it is required, people just use hardground so. Instead we enjoy soft lines using a thin paper.

でも今日のは、案外シャープな線になったなぁー。
But today's plate got sharp lines somehow...
