夜は私達1年生主催による、クリスマスパーティーでした。
仮装パーティーで、テーマは「ジャパニーズ」でした。
We had a christmas party organized by us, 1st year.
It was fancy dress party and theme was "Japanese"

 お寿司とお相撲とカラオケをしました。
Sushi, Sumo, Karaoke！ 

網目 Net ２

またミカンの入っていた網をのせ、今度は手でギュッと押しつけてみました。今日の網目は、この前のより大きめ。これでも案外いけます。
I used a net again. This time the stitch is wider and I just hand-pushed it on the softground. Still it worked!



ところで、グラウンドを落としたり、バーニッシュ液を落とすのには、たくさんのホワイトスピリットやベンジンのようなものを使います。そして、たくさんのボロ布も。
でも今度の学校には、ホワイトスピリットが循環するシンクがあって、とっても便利です。
I used to use lots of whitespirit and clothes to wash the ground off. But now I can use recycle whitespirit sink! 




 

ギザギザをゴロゴロ Notched softground

ソフトグラウンドの上で、ギザギザのペンのキャップを転がします。なんだか、日本の着物の柄みたい。右のプレートは、酸から引き上げた後、水でゆすいだところ。こういう瞬間にも、うっとりします。
I rolled notched pen cap on the softground.
It reminded me a pattern of Japanese traditional KIMONO...

ソフトグラウンドをプレートに敷く前に、まずプレートの表面の油を取り除きます。チョークの粉とアンモニアを使います。この二つでプレートの表面を擦り、水で洗い流します。

Before rolling the softground, it is necessary to degrease the plate using chalk and ammonia.




ところで、私のプレートは小さいです。このスノコの上のどこにあるか、見えます？
This is a sink for degreasing. Can you find my plate?

網目 Net

ソフトグラウンドに、ミカンの入っていた網をのせてプレスします。こんなプリントができます。

こんな感じ・・・
酸に浸ける前のプレートの美しいことったら、ありません！
I think the plate before etching is beautiful!

最後のビンには、自然の土を入れました。虫は元気に生きています。

それを聞いて、一人の信徒が言いました・・・
まぁ先生、それじゃ煙草とチョコレートをたくさん摂らないと、お腹に虫がわくんですね！？

One Sunday, vicar said...
There were three bottles contained a worm each.
The 1st bottle was filled with tobacco leaves. The worm inside was dead.
The 2nd bottle was with chocolate. This worm was also dead.
The last bottle held good soil. This one was survived healthily!

Oh, then we must keep having smoke and chocolates to avoid worms in stomach!

町中の緑The green in the city

町の中に緑を見る時、そこにこの世の創り主を思います。
When I find green in the city, I always remember there is the Creator. 










 


















引っ越しの時、ポインセチアの鉢の一枝が折れました。でも、ガラスのコップに入れたら、根が出てきました。
When I moving the house, one of the branches broken. So I put it into a glass. One day, I saw tiny roots grew in the water.

アドベント The Advent

１２月はアドベント＝待降節。１年をキリストの一生になぞって、今はクリスマス前・神の御子がこの世に「降」りて来られるのを「待」つ季「節」ということです。
ロンドンの町中も、あちこちクリスマスの飾り付けで、楽しくなります。
今日は、アーケードの飾り付けを集めてみました。

これが私の大好きなテート・モダンへの行き方です。
This is my favorite way to the Tate Modern.

まず、Southwark Cathedral サザック（？）・カテドラルへ向かいます。
1st to Southwark Cathedral.




テムズ河の方へ行くと、船があります。（無い時もあります…）
Go toward the Thames. There is a ship ...most of the time but not always.




向こう岸にセント・ポール寺院が見えてきます。
St.Paul on the other side of the river.






そして左手に、シェイクスピアのグローブ座。
The Grove theatre on the left, then...








その先に、目指すテート・モダンです。
Behold, the Tate Modern!








今は、ルイーズ・ブルジョワの「蜘蛛」がお出迎え！
