私のショーMyShow

学期の中間にするショーInterimShow

日々、私が手にする物。それらの表面をプリントしました。朝、台所の扉を開けて、お米をといで、お味噌汁を作る・・・。その間に私が手にする物たち。それらの表面のデコボコさ、なめらかさ、ザラザラした感じ・・・
そういう感触は、知らず知らずの内に、私達の脳の記憶装置に次々と保管されていきます。
Everyday things. I collected and printed the marks from the things I touched. In a morning, I open the door to the kitchen and prepare the breakfast... rice, miso-soup, chopsticks... for British it wuld be a box of the cereals, a milk container, a spoon... the sensation of the surfaces of everyday things gets recorded as tactile information and piled up in our memory system one after the other.

「目に見えないもの」　"Invisible”
アートとしてのドキュメンタリーを観ました。素晴らしかった！
実はこの為に、このレクチャーのシリーズを選んだようなものでした。
Documentary as an art. It was wonderful! I chose this lecture series because of this.

北極、イヌイットの人々の記録です。大自然の中、雪と氷の世界に住む人々。
一見、公害と無縁に見えるその銀世界に、実はすでに忍び寄っている「見えない」恐怖。
This is a record of Inuit in the arctic. People who lives in the snow and the ice... 'a pristine wilderness' The place looks no relation to the pollution for the first sight... but there is already 'Invisible' fear crept up.

極寒の美しい世界を舞台に、真の恐怖を描くこの作品は、私にアートの新たな可能性を示してくれました。
This work showed me there is some potentiality inArt through picturing true fear in a beautiful, pure white world.

キャッチ・アップ Catch Up

色々ございまして、ブログをさぼっておりました。一部の皆様、ご心配おかけして申し訳ございませんでした。

大学では皆、3月にあるショーの準備で忙しそうです。
・・・私も同じ、へへへ。
We are all busy for the show next month in the college.

卒論の方も、色々始まっています。We also started tackling on dissertation.
がんばります！I 'll do my best.

写真をｽｸﾘｰﾝﾌﾟﾘﾝﾄPhoto Screen Print

シルク・スクリーンと呼ぶ方が耳慣れています。でも、「シルク」は使われていないからね・・・Silk Screen sounds familiar to me although it is not silk anymore...

昔の作品の写真をスクリーン・プリントしました。インクを混ぜるのが下手だからかすれてしまいました。でもめげずに透明なバーニッシュをのせたので、明治時代の写真みたいになった・・・オバケの写真のようです。
I printed the photo of my old work. It is badly inked but I put varnsh ink over it. Then it became like an aged photo... Or ghost like photo.

プリントゴッコで育ち、大型のデジタル・プリンターが鼻先にある私にも、スクリーン・プリントは魅力的です。
There is a brilliant gadget called "Print GOKKO" in Japan. It is a small screen print kit.

プリントゴッコ、ちゃーんと日本から持ってきています！でも、もう日本では流行らないんでしょうねぇ…
I brought it from Japan! But it must be out of fashion nowadays... Digital took over it!

カラーのインク Colour Ink

黒のインク以外は、自分たちで配合しなくてはいけません。売っているインクは、テクニシャンのアランおじさん曰く「リトグラフ用とエッチング用の中間で、どちらにも中途半端！」だから・・・。インク作りは面白いけど、急に使いたくなる・・・なんてタイプの私には面倒臭いな・・・。
If we want to use colour ink, we must make it from scratch. Because ready-made ink is oddly made for litho and etching both, so the technician, Alan says.

これは鉛のプレートで、カラーインクには適していません。とくにこういう薄い黄色はダメです・・・
鉛は軟らかいので、色をのせる時、一緒に鉛の表面も削られてしまい、鉛の色・黒色がインクに混ざってしまうからです・・・
THis is zinc and it is not suitable for colour ink, by the way. Especilly light colour like this yellow... because zinc is soft metal and when we spread the ink, we scrape the surface and melt in the zinc itself a bit which colour is black...

ナイジェル・ロルフ Nigel Rolfe

ナイジェル・ロルフのトークを聞きました。彼はダブリンに住んでいます。写真、映像そしてパフォーマンス。パフォーマンス・アートに関しては、ライブを大事にしているので、フィルムなどの記録もなく、「信じてくれ、素晴らしい作品だったんだ。でも何にも証拠が残ってない！」って笑っていました。パフォーマンス・アートの宿命と思います。
I heard Nigel Rolfe's talk. He lives in Dublin. Photo, film and performance. He had no record of his performance. So he said "I swear to you that I did a very good, clever work but there is nothing to show " It is a destiny for the performance art.

折り紙 Origami

ソフトグラウンドの上に、折った紙をのせてプレスしたもの。I put origami on the softground.

折り目がはっきり見えます。I could see the crease.

卒論 Dissertation

やっと大学！卒論の説明と春学期のレクチャーの説明がありました。
College! We had an induction for dissertation and lectures fot this spring term.

このコースの為の卒論は、「自分の考えを文章という形で表現し試す」エキサイティングなチャンス！を提供してくれるそうです。学術的な物を目指さないように、また「書く」という事は何か、考えてみるように・・・というアドヴァイスです。面白くなりそうです！
"The dissertation offers an exciting chance to express and test your ideas in written form" And we are encouraged 'try not being academic', 'Think what is "writing" ' It will be fun!

レクチャーの方は、４種類あります。There are 4 different lecture series this term. 私が今興味あるのは、「新しい自然―New Nature」 I am interested in "New Nature"
人が自然に及ぼす影響を考え、未来を考えるようです。世の中の考えでは、地球の将来を暗いようですが・・・
In this lecture, we discuss about the nature either emphasise the unchanging, animal side of the naked ape or present mankind with a doomsday future in doomed bodies on a doomed planet.
私達の新しい環境をより良く理解するのに、アートとデザインはどのように役に立つでしょう？
How might art and design help us better understand our new nature?

週の初めの日曜日Sunday

今週は元気に！I will pray for keeping my spirits high this week!

日曜日には創造主の作品集と思うけど、今週も無理。代わりに教会で仕入れた小噺を２つ・・・
I want to show photos of the Creator's work on Sundays but couldn't make it. Instead I will introduce ２ jokes I've heard in church...

ある観光客が公園を歩いていると、２人の男が何やら忙しそうなのに出くわした。
一人が穴を掘り、もう一人がその穴を埋める。次に横に移って、一人がまた新しく穴を掘り、もう一人がそれを埋める。その繰り返し。
「何をやってるんだい？」観光客は不思議に思って聞いてみた。
男の一人が答えた。
「こいつが穴を掘って、俺が埋める係。今日は、穴に木を入れる奴が休んでるんだよ。」
A tourist walking in the park came across two men who were somewhat busy.
One digging a hole in the ground and the other filling it. They kept repieating this.
"What are you doing?" asked the tourist.
"This chap dig a pit and I fill it. A man supposed to put a tree in the pit took day off today."

イタリアを訪れた観光客が、建設現場に出くわした。
「何をやってるんだい？」彼は、３人の石工に聞いた。
「俺は石を切っているんだよ」１番目の石工が答えた。
「俺は１日１００ユーロで、石を切ってるんだよ」２番目の石工が答えた。
「俺は大聖堂を建てる手伝いをしてるんだよ」３番目が答えた。

A tourist visiting Italy came upon a construction site.
"What are you doing?" he asked three stonemasons.
"I'm cutting the stone," answered the first.
"I'm cutting stone for 100 euro a day," the second said.
"I'm helping to build a cathedral," said the third.
